Fashion Jewellery Gifts for Your Man
Valentine’s Day is about saying “I Love You” to that special someone you love. If it is a man to whom you are saying these wonderful words, there is no reason not to present him with a gift too. Valentine’s Day is not just for the ladies.
Fewer men are going to be delighted with a heart shaped jewellery gift however! For a Man’s valentine Day present, may we suggest a dress ring or bracelet – of course in a masculine style and in masculine colours.
Men’s jewellery has evolved in the last few years with many designers jumping on the growing bandwagon. Men like to look good too.
Men’s Dress Rings for example are an ideal gift, many come with Cubic Zirconia stones to highlight the design, like in this gold plate ring from rayclif.com. The stylish square cut dress ring has two small cubic zirconia to highlight the stylish black enamel diagonal stripe. A real man’s ring. Many men have a ring stored in their bedside table drawer a quick look will give you the dimensions you need – just trace around the inside of the ring and measure it from side to side, add a millimetre or two to be sure and order away! Most reputable jewellery companies will be happy to exchange if you find you have ordered the wrong size.
Men’s bracelets however are a little easier to purchase as no special sizing is necessary. A man’s bracelet is usually 20-21cm long so will fit the average man beautifully. This jewellery is a great adjunct to a man’s fashion wardrobe, the styles are classic and strong and the construction will see him through many an evening out. Here is an example, a man’s two tone bracelet in rhodium and gold plate. See how the geometry of the design shows strength and the colours compliment each other to further enhance the bracelet?
So what about Large Jewellery – is there a place in fashion for it?
I love large jewellery, I love fashion and fashion costume jewellery therefore I love large fashion costume jewellery!
Check out the latest editions of Vogue and Harpers magazines or their websites at Vogue – http://www.vogue.com.au and Harpers – http://harpersbazaar.com.au both are reporting that large jewellery is definately “in”. Whereas I do feel that some of the new designer jewellery straight off the cat walks is a little on the theatrical side for most of us, there are still plenty of items around that fulfil both the large and the fashion labels.
My current favourite is a string (or is that a three stranded) glass bead and freshwater pearl necklace from Rayclif.com, pictured on the left (without me!). I have both of the colour combinations available – anyway every necklace they make in this style is different from every other). You can see I wear mine with a wonderful Ted Baker gold striped shirt or sometimes with a turtle neck sweater. Yes, it is large, yes it is colourful, yes I love it and yes it’s trendy and yes it didn’t break my bank at just $59 (that’s Aussie dollars folks!).
There is too big though. My example of this and the motivation for this post was a young career lady I saw in the city yesterday. She was immaculate in her fashion statement black business suit – but – anguish – the earrings! This lady was wearing the biggest pair of pearl ear studs I have ever seen (yes, they looked real). You really couldn’t see anything for the pearls. Stud earrings of this nature when worn with a business suit should display some of your ear lobes, just enough to be noticed and just enough to not look ostentatious. She moved a little too quickly for me to get a quick snapshot – but check out my picture of Sarah who shows how to wear a pearl stud – just right!
I am a fan too of the large bracelets. Again Vogue are featuring the large cuff this month. My favourite costume jewellery bracelets at the moment are the beaded variety. Large jewellery such as this is such fun to wear. Reasonable prices allow us all to collect many bracelets for all our outfits. I love to hear the beads jangle as I walk and to feel the fullness over my wrist and hands. Have you noticed how you move your hands more gracefully when they are adorned with bracelets and rings? Which bracelet do you prefer? My favourite is the limited release green, now, do I have a glass ring to go with that?…
Fashion Costume Jewellery Bracelets
Bracelets have been an almost forgotten part of the costume jewellery scene for many years, but the advent of the event jewellery fad has changed all that. Now the fashion costume jewellery bracelet is a booming fashion industry icon with women all over the world sporting bracelets that are the envy of all. Companies such as Pandora, Chamilia and Troll have started the world back on track for luscious, colourful beaded bracelets that are flexible enough to work with every fashion trend and every occasion. Interchangeable beads and charms make these fashion costume jewellery bracelets so flexible that a small stash of beads mean every person has a new piece of fashion jewellery for every outfit. Charms Jewellery is now back in fashion.
We have seen a slightly new take on these bracelets with the introduction from Rayclif of the silver ban
gle bracelet again with the interchangeable beads. One end of this well priced bracelet screws off to allow new beads to be added or the order changed. Comfortable to wear and no awkward clasp to do up, these are a great choice. The best of fashion costume jewellery like this is that the pieces can be worn with so many different outfits simply by changing the contents.
Of course, the more traditional fitted snake bracelet with clasp is still available; like the lobster clasps. These are great and we are all used to pushing the lever and releasing it over the tag or ring to hold the bracelet closed. The popular brands have also made the push clasp popular too – check out the picture on the right for an example (the mechanism of the bracelet clasp is also shown here).
The fashion costume jewellery bracelets need not cost thousands so for a reasonable price you can display your bead and charm jewellery on your wrist and then change them around into necklaces.
Versatility is the key and this form of charm jewellery is perfect for mixing and matching your fashion outfits and creating your own fashion costume jewellery bracelets and necklaces.
