Fashion Costume Jewellery

 I love large jewellery, I love fashion and fashion costume jewellery therefore I love large fashion costume jewellery!

Check out the latest editions of Vogue and Harpers magazines or their websites at Vogue –  http://www.vogue.com.au and Harpers – http://harpersbazaar.com.au both are reporting that large jewellery is definately “in”. Whereas I do feel that some of the new designer jewellery straight off the cat walks is a little on the theatrical side for most of us, there are still plenty of items around that fulfil both the large and the fashion labels.

My current favourite is a string (or is that a three stranded) glass bead and freshwater pearl necklace from Rayclif.com, pictured on the left (without me!). I have both of the colour combinations available – anyway every necklace they make in this style is different from every other). You can see I wear mine with a wonderful Ted Baker gold striped shirt or sometimes with a turtle neck sweater. Yes, it is large, yes it is colourful, yes I love it and yes it’s trendy and yes it didn’t break my bank at just $59 (that’s Aussie dollars folks!).

There is too big though.My example of this and the motivation for this post was a young career lady I saw in the city yesterday. She was immaculate in her fashion statement black business suit – but – anguish – the earrings! This lady was wearing the biggest pair of pearl ear studs I have ever seen (yes, they looked real). You really couldn’t see anything for the pearls. Stud earrings of this nature when worn with a business suit should display some of your ear lobes, just enough to be noticed and just enough to not look ostentatious. She moved a little too quickly for me to get a quick snapshot – but check out my picture of Sarah who shows how to wear a pearl stud – just right!

I am a fan too of the large bracelets. Again Vogue are featuring the large cuff this month. My favourite costume jewellery bracelets at the moment are the beaded variety. Large jewellery such as this is such fun to wear. Reasonable prices allow us all to collect many bracelets for all our outfits. I love to hear the beads jangle as I walk and to feel the fullness over my wrist and hands. Have you noticed how you move your hands more gracefully when they are adorned with bracelets and rings? Which bracelet do you prefer? My favourite is the limited release green, now, do I have a glass ring to go with that?…
